What is DAU (Daily Active Users)?

DAU measures the number of unique users who use a product, website, or mobile app every day. It's used to measure digital product usage and engagement.

DAU is the number of unique users who complete a given action, such as visiting a website, opening an app, or making a purchase, within 24 hours. The indicator tracks a product or service's daily user interaction and user base growth or decline.

To provide a fuller picture of user involvement, DAU is sometimes combined with MAU. MAU is a product or service's monthly unique users. DAU-to-MAU comparisons show user engagement consistency.

DAU doesn't measure frequency. Therefore, use other metrics like session time to better understand how people interact with a product or service.
